Decisions, Decisions...

It's a dilemma of epic proportions.
Or maybe not.

Either way, I just can't decide.  Jen over at Cabin Fever in Vermont is having a monthly photography contest for black and white photos.  I'm working on my entry.  I've already decided that I want to use this photo from last summer when the dogs and I took a trip to the Machickanee.  After all, I am completely in love with it.

Best friends, partners, the loves of my life.
The loves of my life, crossing a bridge side-by-side... chokes me up a little.

So, first I just made it black and white to see what I thought of it.

Hmmm... yes... I think it's working.  I'm just not sure about that grass toward the top of the picture.  The sun is shining on it and making it much lighter, which is definitely dramatized by the black and white.  Perhaps it's too much contrast and takes away from the focus of the picture.  I'm not sure.

I decided to see how it looks cropped.

I'm not so sure how I feel about that one.  Seems like a waste to cut off the other side of the bridge.

This one gets rid of the distracting grass, but I wonder if it takes too much away from the bridge.

I'm just not sure.

To crop or not to crop, that is the question.

  1. I like the last one best. The rectangular shape fits with the shapes on the bridge. I would like a copy of that for my family room please.
